Blurry Path

Even now, I still don’t fully understand why such things happen to us—my sister and me. It all started when I was in my 3rd year of college. Something terrible happened to my sister and me—something that changed our lives completely and deeply affected our future. We were on our way home, riding a motorcycle. My sister was driving. We saw another vehicle, and the next thing I knew, everything went black. I woke up in the hospital with a broken leg, and my sister was unconscious. I’m not sure exactly what happened, but from what I can recall, we crashed. We spent almost half a million on my sister's surgery, plus our personal expenses. We couldn’t afford such a large amount, so my mother posted on social media asking for help. Seeing our parents struggle because of us broke my heart into pieces. We survived our first surgery, but we still need a second one, and we don’t have a schedule yet. I consider those experiences the darkest moments of my life. Despite of all the struggling we experienced, me and my sister never felt anger or hatred toward the person who caused our trauma. It was a year ago, but the pain is still here, and we're still in the process of healing. Yes, we don't know the reason, and we don't know where this will take us, but we continue to trust God because behind these struggles is Him, our strength. We still believe that everything happens for a reason because we always look at the bright side of every negativity embracing us. We still believe that God will be our guide on our blurry path. Despite of all the pain, I stand firm, for my one of my life verses says, persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed in 2 Corinthians 4:9 — the heart of God's warrior.
