The Magical Saranggola

In a small Filipino village, there lived a curious and adventurous girl named Maya. She loved playing outside, watching the clouds drift lazily across the sky. One day, Maya's grandfather, Lolo, surprised her with a beautiful saranggola (kite) he made. Maya named her saranggola "Himig" (Melody), after the gentle hum of the wind. Himig's wings were crafted from colorful silk and bamboo, adorned with intricate designs. Maya rushed to the open field, Lolo guiding her. Together, they released Himig into the sky. The kite soared, its tail streaming behind. As Himig danced among the clouds, Maya felt an unexpected jolt. Suddenly, she was lifted off the ground, her feet dangling in mid-air. Himig began to glow. Maya held tight to the string as Himig carried her above the village. They glided over rice fields, sparkling rivers and vibrant markets. They met:Lakas, a strong eagle teaching bravery, Sinta, a kind butterfly sharing love, and Tala, a twinkling firefly guiding wisdom. The Lesson During their journey, Maya realized that Himig's magic came from her own imagination and heart. She learned valuable lessons:1. Courage to soar, 2. Kindness to others, and 3. Believing in oneself. The Return As sunset approached, Himig gently descended, returning Maya to the field. Lolo smiled, proud of Maya's newfound wisdom. Maya's Promise Maya vowed to spread joy and inspiration throughout the village, just like Himig's magical flight. The End Illustrations: 1. Maya holding Himig. 2. Lolo crafting the saranggola. 3. Himig soaring amidst clouds. 4. Maya flying with Himig. 5. Colorful Filipino landscapes. Moral: Imagination, kindness and courage can take you on incredible adventures.
